Labor Day Weekend Gathering & Picnic

On Sunday September 5th we’ll be meeting at Chuck and Dawn Park’s house in North Wales for our gathering at 10:15am. Then we’ll stick around and enjoy eating – potluck style! – and hanging out together.

We are requesting that each family bring…
- 1 homemade dish to share (LAST names A-R a side dish, S-Z a dessert)
- a favorite family beverage
- lawn chair(s) and/or picnic blanket

Gathering location for tomorrow 8/14

Tomorrow morning Renew will be gathering at Whites Road Park in Lansdale at 10:15am (we will meet by the amphitheater directions). We will be spending the morning continuing our study of Galatians, and looking at what it means to bless one another. We are really looking forward to this time! We will have kid care for the older children and infants/toddlers can remain with their parents. We’d encourage you to bring blankets and chairs as we will be sitting in the grass.

Child Dedication

NOTE: Our August 15 gathering will NOT be held at Marjeane’s as is normally the case. Instead it will be a unique experience together as we seek to join with God’s mission. Plan on participating with us, but know that it will not be at our regularly scheduled location. More details to come. We will, however, be at Marjeane’s the morning of August 22, 2010.

Costa Rica Trip

On July 25 to August 3, 2010, Cheryl Ensinger, Julie Spratt, Janine Shinn and Janine’s daughter Shirley will travel to Costa Rica on a missions trip. The purpose of the trip includes:

-Connect and collect artisan goods from Cheryl’s former host mom, Samia
-Cheryl and Julie (both nurses) will medically minister to the indigenous people in Chirripo
-Cheryl will present aspects of a Medical Spanish Curriculum she’s creating for the school at CISA

The team would covet your prayers and appreciate any financial help you are able to give. Total cost of the trip is $4,000 (this covers airfare, food, and the cost to stay with a host family). Checks can be made out to “Renew Community” with “Costa Rica” written on the memo line and given to any of the team members, or you can give online through the Renew website (just let a member of the team know if you are giving this way since there is no way to mark it for our trip).

Renew Baptisms Next Month

Have you made a commitment to be a follower of Jesus but have not been baptized? Baptism is a public, outward expression of an inward transformation. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate what God has done in and through individuals within our faith community. Renew will be having baptisms in July. Are you interested in baptism?
