Mother’s Day at the Park

Originaly Posted on April 28, 2010
Mother’s Day is May 9th – less than two weeks away – and our next gathering is scheduled for that morning.
Instead of meeting at Marjeane’s we’re going to be meeting at another location very close by at Stony Creek Park (just 0.2 miles south on Hancock from Marjeane’s).
We’re going to have a shortened time together with a unique experience of prayer, worship and honoring our mothers.
Mothers: those within our community who are not parents will be available to watch your kids so you can spend time with God and others and have a little bit of a break as we’re together.
Join us Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 10:15am-11:30am at Stony Creek.
Stay tuned to the website for further updates.
Questions? Contact Brooke at brookemwasser@gmail.com
Hope to see you there.

Online Giving

Originaly Posted on April 19, 2010
Giving is not something we shy away from in Renew. Giving is not only an act of worship as followers of Jesus its always a way to take ownership and participate in the vision of Renew. In the New Testament, Paul asked boldly for people to participate in his ministry – and we ask the same today. Whether you are a part of Renew or not, whether you live in the North Penn region or you live across the country, would you join with us in seeing Renew’s vision become a reality?
There are two ways to give to Renew. The easiest way to give is to donate online by clicking the “Donate Now” button on the bottom right of the homepage.  You can also send checks to our mailing address P.O. Box 361 Lansdale, PA 19446.
Thank you to many who continue to give generous to Renew in order for us to bless the region and the world.

Originaly Posted on April 16, 2010
One of our local partnerships is Manna on Main (www.mannaonmain.org) the North Penn region’s food pantry + soup kitchen.  Each month Manna highlights a particular donation need for their food pantry. In April they are looking for donations of 5 lb bags of flour and sugar. Interested in helping out in small and practical ways? Drop off donations to 514 W Main in Lansdale or bring them to the next Renew gathering.

Viral Hope

Originaly Posted on April 16, 2010

Recently Ecclesia Press, the publishing arm of the Ecclesia Network (the missional church planting network that Renew of which is a member) just released its debut book called Viral Hope: God News from the Urbs to the Burbs (and Everything in Between). 50 missional practitioners from all over the Western World contributed an entry attempting to answer, “If your local newspaper asked you to write a 500 word piece answer the question, ‘What is the gospel?’ what would you write?” J.R. was asked to contribute to the book answering the question for the Lansdale Reporter.

Daughter’s Fundraiser

Originaly Posted on April 7, 2010

The Souderton House Church along with Doug Burns’s photography studio, Candid Moments Photography are raising money for Daughters on Saturday, April 17th.  Doug will be photographing 20 moms and daughters from 9:30-4:30 and all profits will be used to support Daughters.  The portrait sessions will be 10 minutes long and cost $25.  Prints will be sold separately.  Make-up artists will be there freshening up faces and Rita’s Water Ice is giving 10% of sales towards our cause.

We need help in a few ways.  We need volunteers especially anyone with some sales background since we will be selling prints that same day.  Since the day will be 7 hours long we would like to break all the jobs down to two teams.  We also need moms and daughters to photograph.  If you would like to be photographed or know someone that would like to be photographed please contact Doug at candidmomentsphotography@gmail.com or 215-237-2072.
